The links between landslides, seismicity and tectonic movements are not obvious: the distribution of epicentres does not reflect the distribution of landslides;&nbsp;the mobilised material of target landslides&nbsp;is larger on gentle slopes. The stability of slopes seems to be controlled by interactions between several factors. The target area holds a variability in the distribution and type of slope instabilities. It therefore constitutes an appropriate case-study to investigate how factors such as bottom current contourite deposition, fluid seepage and tectonic uplift precondition the stability of slopes and their link with seismic activity. The ALBAMAR project aims to understand submarine landslides occurrence and frequency and to constrain the probability of future slope failures in the southern part of the Alboran Sea, for assessing landslide and tsunami hazard in this densely-populated region.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Les instabilit\u00e9s sous-marines en Mer d\u2019Alboran: liens entre l\u2019activit\u00e9 tectonique, la sismicit\u00e9 et la s\u00e9dimentation et leur impact sur l\u2019\u00e9valuation de l\u2019al\u00e9a<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size wp-block-paragraph\">La mer d&rsquo;Alboran est l&rsquo;une des zones g\u00e9ologiquement les plus actives de la M\u00e9diterran\u00e9e o\u00f9 l&rsquo;on trouve des glissements de terrain sous-marins ayant un potentiel tsunamig\u00e8ne. Les liens entre les glissements de terrain, la sismicit\u00e9 et les mouvements tectoniques ne sont pas \u00e9vidents : la distribution des \u00e9picentres ne refl\u00e8te pas la distribution des glissements de terrain ; le mat\u00e9riel mobilis\u00e9 des glissements de terrain cibles est plus important sur les pentes douces. La stabilit\u00e9 des pentes semble \u00eatre contr\u00f4l\u00e9e par des interactions entre plusieurs facteurs. La zone cible pr\u00e9sente une variabilit\u00e9 dans la distribution et le type d&rsquo;instabilit\u00e9 des pentes. Elle constitue donc un cas d&rsquo;\u00e9tude appropri\u00e9 pour \u00e9tudier comment des facteurs tels que le d\u00e9p\u00f4t de contourite par le courant de fond, l&rsquo;infiltration de fluide et le soul\u00e8vement tectonique conditionnent la stabilit\u00e9 des pentes et leur lien avec l&rsquo;activit\u00e9 sismique.
